The Alden Richards starrer “Five Breakups and a Romance” will hit UAE cinemas starting on Thursday (November 30). Expat Media was invited to the movie premiere at Al Ghurair Centre’s Star Cinemas on Tuesday (November 28). Fans were excited to see the first movie tandem of Alden and Julia Montes, who also stars in the movie. The actors were not present at the premiere, although they have both visited Dubai in separate occasions in the past. In Five Breakups and a Romance, Alden and Julia take viewers on a “quantum entanglement” with their rollercoaster relationship journey. The movie is set in Singapore and the Philippines and follows the love story between Lance (Alden), a medical student, and Justine (Julia), a brand management boss in Singapore. Directed by Irene Villamor, Five Breakups and a Romance is a collaboration between GMA Pictures, Cornerstone Entertainment, and Alden's Myriad Corporation. In the Philippines, the movie has earned a gross sale of P72 million as of its fourth week. In the Middle East, Five Breakups and a Romance will also screen in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain starting on Thursday. In a previous media conference, Alden and Julia became emotional while talking about their latest movie. Alden called it "one for the books", saying the movie "really made an impact" on his life and is something he will be proud to share to his grand children one day. Julia also struggled to fight tears, saying the movie is "really special to her". It is her comeback movie of sorts after taking a break from acting.
