Alex Gonzaga criticized for smearing icing on waiter

Alex Gonzaga is facing backlash from netizens after a now-deleted Instagram video of her putting icing on a waiter's forehead during her birthday celebration went viral on social media. Gonzaga was seen celebrating her 35th birthday with her loved ones, including her husband, Mikee Morada, in a video posted on Dani Barretto's Instagram Story on Monday night (January 16). After blowing out the candles on her birthday cake, the actress was seen smearing icing on the waiter's forehead. Barretto immediately took down the video. However, it has been circulated on social media by netizens and numerous media sources. The video sparked outrage among netizens, particularly on Facebook and Twitter, with some accusing her of having "rude behavior" and being a "blatant bully" to the waiter. Some netizens also came out to discuss their social media experiences with Gonzaga. Ceej Tantengco, a children's book author, claimed that she previously worked with Gonzaga on a TV commercial where the actress requested to change the call time since she "was not a morning person." Alex Gonzaga Meanwhile, Lloyd Luna, a Filipino author and motivational speaker expressed in a shared Facebook post: "Our social status doesn't determine our class. When we treat those who serve us like this, we step on their dignity." Alex Gonzaga Barretto was dragged into the controversy by another netizen for allegedly "wiping her hands clean" after deleting the video from her Instagram account. Alex Gonzaga Gonzaga and Barretto have yet to respond to the situation. Since Monday night, "Alex Gonzaga" and the terms "Mikee," "Catherine," "Bastos," and "GMRC" have been trending on Twitter, with over 30,000 tweets. Gonzaga also went viral on social media in November 2022 after claiming that Heart Evangelista snubbed her and Dra. Vicki Belo at a fashion show in Milan, Italy. However, after the episode went viral on social media and netizens began criticizing Evangelista for the snub, Gonzaga and Belo confirmed that the incident never occurred and was just a joke.
