Magnitude wins the 2026 Dubai World Cup at Meydan Racecourse on March 28, 2026.

The 30th edition of the Dubai World Cup concluded at Meydan Racecourse on Saturday (March 28) with American colt Magnitude taking the top prize in the Group 1 feature. The four-year-old, owned by Winchell Thoroughbreds, completed the 2,000-metre dirt race in 2:04.38 under jockey Jose Ortiz. Trained by Steve Asmussen, Magnitude secured the winner’s purse of $6.96 million from a total prize pool of $12 million. Racing against nine international contenders, Magnitude finished ahead by 0.98 lengths, marking the ninth victory for the United States in the history of the Dubai World Cup. Japanese contender Forever Young, owned by Susumu Fujita, finished second. The horse was trained by Yoshito Yahagi and ridden by Ryusei Sakai, earning $2.4 million. Third place went to Meydaan, representing the UAE and owned by Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The horse, trained by Simon and Ed Crisford and ridden by William Buick, earned $1.2 million. The Dubai World Cup remains one of the most prominent fixtures on the international horse racing calendar, attracting leading horses, trainers and jockeys from around the world to Meydan each year.
