A montage of Expat Media and Andi Eigenmann's sessions with ChatGPT. EXPAT MEDIA

In an unexpected twist to the ongoing saga between actress-turned-influencer Andi Eigenmann and professional surfer Philmar Alipayo, ChatGPT—yes, the AI chatbot—has officially entered the conversation. At the center of the rumored breakup? A matching tattoo that Philmar got with his longtime friend, Swedish expat Pernilla Sjoo, without consulting Andi. The actress found it questionable and, rather than just asking friends or family, turned to ChatGPT for an objective opinion. And so, following Andi’s lead, we at Expat Media decided to do the same. If ChatGPT could give advice to a celebrity, why not let it analyze the situation for everyone to read? Here’s what happened when we put the drama to the AI test.

Andi’s ChatGPT inquiry that started it all

Andi first asked ChatGPT: “Do you think it’s sus when a friend invites your life partner to get a love couple’s tattoo with them without even filling you in or consulting you???” ChatGPT didn’t hold back, replying: “It can definitely seem suspicious or raise some red flags. Open communication and trust are important in any relationship, so if your friend is inviting your partner to do something so personal without discussing it with you, it might feel like a breach of trust. It’s worth having a conversation with both your partner and your friend to express your feelings and understand their perspectives.” That could have been the end of it, but Andi followed up: “But me and my life partner were in a fight when this happened and she immediately comes to his rescue and invites him to do this?” And that was when things really took off. The tattoo in question was done at Ink Digger Tattoo in Siargao and featured a matching design  shared by Philmar and Pernilla—who has been a Siargao resident since 2013. Their tattoo of the numbers "224" stands for "Today, Tomorrow and Forever". The timing of it all, during a fight between Andi and Philmar, didn’t sit well with Andi, leading to a series of cryptic Instagram Stories. Initially, Andi posted about someone being a “snake” and a “wolf in sheep’s clothing”, fueling speculation that Philmar had been unfaithful. Philmar responded in his native language, writing: “Whatever you read is true. No more hiding (lies) because it only makes things harder. You already know who I am, so maybe you already know who she is. No need to elaborate further.” This only led to more speculation until Andi clarified that Philmar had not cheated on her. Instead, she revealed that the real betrayal came from their mutual friend, who she later found out had been encouraging Philmar to break up with her whenever they fought.

What ChatGPT had to say about the whole thing

When Expat Media editors asked ChatGPT to analyze the situation, it laid out a surprisingly balanced take: ✅ Philmar was wrong for not consulting Andi before getting a tattoo with another woman, especially given the history of boundary issues. ✅ Andi was justified in feeling hurt but could have handled it better than posting cryptic messages online. ✅ The biggest issue was trust and external influences—if a friend is actively encouraging breakups, that’s a serious red flag. The AI even provided suggestions on how to fix things, from setting clearer boundaries to prioritizing private conversations over public drama—all things that, let’s be honest, many of us could probably use in our own relationships. Prompted by Expat Media editors, read ChatGPT's insightful take on the issue, which we have posted in full below:

ChatGPT’s full analysis for Expat Media on the Andi-Philmar issue:

Relationships are built on trust, communication, and mutual respect. Andi Eigenmann and Philmar Alipayo’s rumored breakup highlights deeper issues in their dynamic—particularly around boundaries, trust, and external influences. Let’s break it down.

Who is right and who is wrong?

This situation is not black and white, but both Andi and Philmar could have handled things differently. Philmar’s side Right: Philmar has the right to maintain friendships, including close ones with his longtime best friend. Having tattoos with a friend is not inherently wrong. He also openly addressed the public scrutiny instead of staying silent. Wrong: However, not consulting Andi about the matching tattoos was a lack of consideration and respect. While he may not have intended to hurt her, any significant decision (especially involving another woman) should have included her input. Past patterns: The fact that this isn’t the first time Philmar has been accused of not setting clear boundaries with other women suggests a recurring issue. Andi had previously defended him, but this situation might have reopened old wounds. Andi’s side Right: Andi has every right to feel hurt, especially upon learning that their mutual friend was allegedly encouraging Philmar to break up with her. That is a betrayal of trust not only by the friend but also by Philmar, who allowed such an influence to persist. She also clarified the cheating rumors, preventing further misunderstandings. Wrong: Andi’s cryptic posts escalated the drama. Instead of addressing the issue privately, she left room for public speculation, which likely made things worse. While venting emotions online is relatable, it is rarely productive in maintaining a healthy relationship.

What could have been done differently?

1. Philmar should have communicated before getting the tattoo A simple conversation with Andi about his plans could have prevented her from feeling blindsided. Even if he believed it was harmless, asking for her thoughts would have shown respect. 2. Andi should have expressed her feelings directly instead of posting cryptic messages While emotions run high, publicizing personal issues invites unnecessary drama. Instead of social media posts, a direct and honest conversation with Philmar about her feelings would have been more effective. 3. Philmar needs to reassess his boundaries This is the second time he has been questioned about not drawing clear lines with other women. Even if his intentions are pure, perception matters in a relationship. He needs to take responsibility for ensuring Andi feels secure in their relationship. 4. Both need to set boundaries with external influences Andi realized that setting boundaries is not toxic but necessary. Philmar should have distanced himself from anyone encouraging him to break up with Andi. True friends support a relationship, not sabotage it.

How can they fix their relationship?

1. Private, honest communication They need to have a deep conversation—without outside noise—to understand each other’s feelings and concerns. 2. Philmar needs to rebuild trust While Andi clarified that Philmar didn’t cheat, his actions have hurt her trust. He needs to show her through actions (not just words) that he prioritizes their relationship. 3. Andi needs to let go of public validation  Instead of engaging in social media drama, Andi should focus on what truly matters: their relationship, not public perception. 4. They must decide on their future together If they want to move forward, both need to be clear on expectations, boundaries, and mutual respect. If they can’t align, it may be healthier to part ways amicably.

Final verdict: Can they make it work?

Yes—if both are willing to put in the effort. This isn’t a relationship-ending issue, but rather a wake-up call for both to prioritize each other over external influences. However, if patterns of lack of communication and boundary issues continue, resentment may build, making it harder to sustain their relationship. Their love story isn’t over yet—but whether it continues or not depends on how they handle this turning point.

The bigger picture: will they get back together?

As of now, both Andi and Philmar have unfollowed each other on social media, fueling rumors that their split is final. However, given that their relationship has survived past controversies—including Philmar being caught in a viral video with another woman last year—there’s always a chance for reconciliation. ChatGPT seems to believe that this isn’t a relationship-ending issue, but rather a wake-up call for both of them. If they can communicate better, set boundaries, and rebuild trust, their story might not be over just yet. For now, though, it looks like Andi and Philmar are riding separate waves. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned from this drama, it’s that even celebrities are turning to AI for advice—and maybe, just maybe, it’s not the worst idea. So, should you ask ChatGPT for relationship advice? At this point, Andi would probably say: Been there, done that. PIA/MFD/Expat Media
