Arab camper survives fall from Ras Al Khaimah cliff
DUBAI – An Arab man has survived after falling off a cliff in a mountain in Ras Al Khaimah, authorities said on Monday (February 28). Brigadier General Mohammad Al Zaabi, Director of Ras Al Khaimah Civil Defence, said the incident happened on Saturday night in the Shamal area. The 28-year-old Arab was camping with his friends when he fell off the cliff. Police received an emergency call at 6:45pm and dispatched a team to rescue the man. “Due to the rugged nature of the area, our officers had to go an on-foot rescue operation to reach to the man’s location,” Al Zaabi said. Rescuers were eventually able to reach the camper and provide first aid before transferring him to the nearest hospital. Doctors said that the Arab camper suffered a broken shoulder due to the fall, but is receiving treatment. He remains in stable condition.
