An Arab man has been jailed in Dubai for stealing a Lamborghini from a parking lot of a residential tower in the emirate. The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced the GCC resident to three years in jail, followed by deportation. Two Asian accomplices were given the same sentence. The three men were also fined Dh150,720 each. The court heard that the group stole the luxury sports car and smuggled it out of the UAE using fake registration documents. The crime was uncovered in September 2021 after the owner of the Lamborghini reported to police that his car had been stolen from the parking area of a tower in Dubai Marina. The owner, an investor in Dubai, said he returned from travel overseas only to find that his Lamborghini worth Dh1.1 million had been stolen. Police were able to track and arrest the Arab man who led the car theft. During interrogation, the man admitted to stealing several luxury vehicles in the emirate. ICA/Expat Media
