An Arab woman has been awarded by Ajman Police for her quick thinking that helped save a child from a potential fall from a residential tower balcony in Ajman. The woman, who was looking out of her apartment window, noticed a toddler precariously climbing the edge of a balcony in a nearby high-rise building. She immediately contacted Ajman Police, who quickly dispatched a team to the scene. Brigadier Abdullah Saif Al Matrooshi, Director General of Police Operations, praised the woman's “security awareness and quick response.” Colonel Ghaith Khalifa Al Kaabi, Director of the Comprehensive City Police Station, confirmed that the child—a two-year-old boy—had climbed onto the balcony using a chair while unsupervised. “His parents were distracted, posing a serious risk to his life,” he said. The child's parents were summoned and face legal action for negligence under UAE child safety laws. Al Kaabi emphasized the importance of childproofing homes, especially those in high-rise buildings. He warned: “Leaving children unsupervised can lead to tragic incidents and legal consequences. We urge all parents to take proactive safety measures at home.” ICA/Expat Media
