Dubai’s biggest Filipino community celebration is turning up the volume this year, with celebrities, P-Pop stars and thousands of overseas Filipinos expected to gather for Kalayaan 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre on June 7. Organizers officially unveiled the entertainment lineup during the event launch at B Hub in BurJuman Mall on Thursday (May 21), confirming special appearances and performances by actress and singer Arci Muñoz, girl group G22, and P-Pop group 1st.One. For many Filipinos in the UAE, Kalayaan has long evolved beyond a traditional Independence Day gathering. It has become a full-scale community reunion, part concert, part cultural showcase and part celebration of what it means to build a Filipino life far from home. This year’s event returns to Halls 1 and 2 of the Dubai World Trade Centre with free admission from 8am to 8pm, promising an entire day packed with performances, food, exhibits and family-friendly attractions. The celebration is presented through Emirates Loves Philippines, Infinite Communities and The Filipino Channel, with support from D&R Elegant Events, Urban Grid Group and VivaOne. Infinite Communities founder and CEO Elena Cruz said they are preparing another large-scale celebration designed to bring together Filipinos across the UAE. “Kalayaan 2026 will once again showcase world-class Filipino entertainment, music, culture, and community spirit on one grand stage,” Cruz said. She described the annual gathering as more than just a festive occasion. “Kalayaan 2026 is the UAE’s biggest annual celebration of Philippine Independence, bringing together the vibrant Filipino community to honour heritage, unity, resilience, and cultural pride,” she said. “More than just a celebration, Kalayaan 2026 serves as a platform to unite the Filipino community, promote cultural understanding, and share the richness of Philippine traditions with the wider UAE audience. It is also a meaningful reminder of the shared values, hard work, optimism, and resilience that define Filipinos around the world,” she added. Beyond the celebrity performances, organizers said visitors can expect musical and cultural showcases from Filipino community groups across the emirates, highlighting the diversity and creativity of the UAE’s Filipino population. Infinite Communities' Community Director Josie Conlu said attendees can also look forward to “exciting musical and cultural presentations from various Filipino community groups across the emirates, celebrating the diversity, creativity, and talent of the UAE Filipino community.” The event will also feature interactive exhibits, community booths, family-oriented attractions and a Kalayaan Food Village serving Filipino favourites alongside multicultural dishes, turning the venue into a day-long celebration of identity, nostalgia and shared experience. The official launch gathered community leaders, partners, media representatives and government officials ahead of the June event, including Philippine Consul General Ambrosio Brian Enciso III. Kalayaan 2026 is supported by the Philippine Embassy, the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, the Migrant Workers Office, Dubai Police, Positive Spirit, Hemaya International and the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai (GDRFA Dubai). For one day, Dubai World Trade Centre is expected to transform into something instantly familiar to Filipinos abroad: loud music, long food queues, waving flags, community performances and the unmistakable feeling of home recreated thousands of kilometres away.
