Aster Volunteers by Aster DM Healthcare is holding a walkathon for a cause at Dubai’s Zabeel Park as the finale of its 3-week health campaign Heart2Heart Cares. The walkathon will be held on October 29 from 4pm to 9pm. Registration is available on heart2heart.astervolunteers.com and participants will need to upload screenshots of their step count on timetrack.astervolunteers.com to earn volunteering hours and get volunteering certificates. The walkathon aims to encourage more people to walk for their heart's health while also helping save the lives of 50 underprivileged children in need of heart surgery. For every 10,000 steps, Aster DM Healthcare contributes 100 rupees to the Aster DM Foundation for pediatric cardiac surgeries of 50 disadvantaged children. The first 2,000 registrations until October 25 will also enter a raffle draw. Twenty participants in the UAE will be selected to receive exciting gifts during the closing event on October 29. There will also be a special prizes for participants in both the male and female categories who complete the highest eligible steps on October 29. Heart2Heart Cares allows participants to engage in fitness programs, including walking 10,000 steps, cycling 10km in 90 mins, and burning 400 calories in 90 mins as part of a month-long campaign. The last two editions, launched on World Heart Day in 2021 and 2022, witnessed significant participation from India and GCC, resulting in over 8,750 participants, 331 million eligible steps, and a total contribution of 4.05 million rupees towards the cause.
