Authorities issue clarification on shark spotted in Khor Fakkan

The UAE government authorities have addressed reports of a shark sighting off the coast of Khor Fakkan. The Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) has said that the spotted shark type does not threaten humans. “It will not attack unless it is touched or harassed or provoked,” EPAA said. The official report verified that incidents with sharks are sporadic throughout the country. Sightings of these animals near beaches were relatively uncommon. BKM/ Expat Media
