DUBAI – A newborn has been found in a box left at a mosque in Al Shawkah area between the Al Dhaid and Ras Al Khaimah border, authorities said. Mosque goers found the abandoned baby boy covered in cloth inside the box as they went to perform Fajr prayer. The mosque imam alerted the police about the abandoned baby, which was taken to the Al Dhaid Hospital for check-up. The baby was found to be healthy, and initial investigation indicated that the baby was born out of wedlock. An investigation is underway to trace the baby’s parents.
