Baby killed, 3 hurt in Abu Dhabi house fire

  DUBAI – A fire that broke out in a house in Abu Dubai left a baby dead and three of his family members injured, according to the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Department on Saturday (June 1). The eight-month-old baby boy died from suffocation after inhaling too much smoke from the fire in the family’s home in eastern Bani Yas area. Authorities said that the three people were treated for smoke inhalation. The Civil Defence did not release further details about their condition. An investigation is underway to find out what caused the blaze. Meanwhile, the Civil Defence urged residents to ensure that their homes or offices comply with fire safety codes, and also reminded the public against gathering at accident sites, saying this can slow down rescue efforts and also put them in danger.
