Baby in stable condition after falling from Ras Al Khaimah building

DUBAI – An Egyptian baby girl is now in stable condition after falling from the window of her family’s apartment in Ras Al Khaimah. The 19-month-old baby, L.F., was transferred to a specialist hospital on Wednesday (February 20) to continue her treatment after doctors at Saqr Hospital ensured that her condition was stable. The baby had climbed onto a sofa bed and fell out the window of the family’s apartment on the 10th floor of a building in Ras Al Khaimah's Khuzam area. Her mother was in another room to prepare her older child’s school bag and her father was out shopping for groceries during the ill-fated incident. The baby had landed on the rear windshield of a car parked below the building during the incident on Sunday. Doctors said the vehicle cushioned her fall and saved her life. The baby, however, sustained serious injuries from the impact of the fall and was taken to Saqr Hospital for treatment of multiple fractures and severe head trauma. The baby’s father, Mahmoud Farghali, said the family continues to pray for her recovery and that she was transferred to specialist hospital Tawam Hospital in Al Ain on Wednesday for further treatment. Farghali said that his daughter remains in stable condition.
