As the summer holidays come to an end, schools across the UAE are gearing up for the return of students on Monday (August 26). This date marks the start of the academic year for most public and private institutions in the country. With the winter break set to begin on December 16 and the spring break scheduled next year from March 24  to April 13, students and parents alike are preparing for a busy school year ahead. To ensure a smooth start, schools are taking various measures, including distributing welcome kits and coordinating staggered start times with neighbouring institutions to ease traffic congestion. Detailed traffic plans, along with drop-off procedures, are being shared with parents to make the first day as stress-free as possible. Educators are also advising parents to gradually re-establish their children’s routines, such as regular bedtimes and morning schedules, to help students transition back to school life. Schools are focusing on familiarising new students with their surroundings through orientation days, which also provide returning families a chance to reacquaint themselves with school procedures. In preparation for the new term, schools are reminding parents to ensure that holiday homework is submitted on time and that students are equipped with all the necessary supplies. From notebooks and planners to laptops and reusable water bottles, having the right tools is key to kicking off the school year successfully. As the first day approaches, the emphasis is on punctuality, preparedness, and ensuring a smooth transition back to the classroom. MKQ/Expat Media
