Balikbayan Store Receives Two Nominations in Startup Awards

Dubai-based Balikbayan Store has received two nominations in the Global Startup Awards. The company was nominated for the Founder of the Year 2023 award and the Startup of the Year 2023 award. The online shopping platform, which was launched this year, allows Filipinos and UAE residents to buy gifts that can be delivered to their families and friends in the Philippines. The items include groceries, gadgets, appliances, furniture, as well as travel and tour services. Customers can opt to pay for their purchases in installments, with a zero-interest plan via Tabby or Tamara. “Being nominated is a testament to our team’s hard work and the trust our Kabayan community places in us,” said Michelle Guinto, CEO and Founder of Balikbayan Store. “We are honored and humbled by this recognition.
