Dubai’s Filipino food scene just got a new addition. Barkadahan Food Hub has officially opened in Al Barsha, promising Filipino fusion dishes and authentic cuisine that celebrate the rich and vibrant flavours of the Philippines. The restaurant’s grand opening on September 6 was graced by owners Mary Edelweiss and Marston Go, Philippine Consul General Marford Angeles and prominent Filipino community leaders, including Josie Conlu, former Philippine Business Council chairman Bobbie Carella and The Filipino Global Magazine publisher Maryam Delim. In a statement sent to Expat Media, Barkadahan Food Hub owners said the restaurant is designed to be “a celebration of Filipino flavours in the heart of Dubai.” "We offer Filipino comfort food and fusion cuisine designed for both solo dining and barkada-style sharing. Our menu spans across traditional silog meals, hearty stews, sizzling plates and grilled specialties," the owners told Expat Media. Their signature dish is the Seafood Cajun bucket. They also offer express meals such as arroz caldo, lomi, goto and Cebu steamed rice, as well as grilled specialties and Barkada Ulam like kare-kare, Bistek Tagalog, Seafood Gising-Gising, Beef Kaldereta, Laing and Sinigan. Located at Barsha Souq 4, Al Barsha 1 (near Insurance Market Station Exit 1), the restaurant is expected to become a new hub for Filipino families, friends, and food lovers in the city. It is open on weekdays from 10am to 10:30pm, and until 11:30pm on weekends. CAM/Expat Media
