DC Comics' legendary superhero Batman is set to make history as the first superhero to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This groundbreaking event will take place on September 26 at 6764 Hollywood Boulevard, right in front of The Hollywood Guinness World Records Museum. Batman's inclusion on the Walk of Fame signifies the character's monumental impact on popular culture and entertainment over the past eight decades. Michael Empric, an official Guinness World Records adjudicator, will be present at the ceremony to officially certify Batman's historic achievement. The star's unveiling is anticipated to draw fans from around the globe, who have long celebrated Batman's influence in both comic books and cinematic history. "The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor our first superhero on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! The one, the only, Batman!" said Ana Martinez, the producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Batman's star will be positioned next to those of Adam West, who portrayed the caped crusader in the 1960s TV series, and Bob Kane, Batman's co-creator. The ceremony will feature notable figures from DC Comics, including Jim Lee, the company's president, publisher, and chief creative officer, and Anne DePies, senior vice president and general manager. Steve Nissen, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, will emcee the event, further highlighting the significance of this milestone for the superhero genre. Batman's debut dates back to 1939, appearing in "Detective Comics #27," a creation of Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger. Since then, the character has evolved through various media, including the iconic "Batman" TV series, which starred Adam West and Burt Ward as Robin. The show's theme song, composed by Neal Hefti, became an instant hit, even winning a Grammy for best instrumental theme. Over the years, Batman has been portrayed by a range of actors and reimagined by filmmakers like Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder, making him a central figure in the superhero film genre. The Batman film franchise has grossed over $6.8 billion (Dh24.9 billion) worldwide, securing its place as the 10th highest-grossing film franchise of all time.
