Filipino actress, director, and screenwriter Bela Padilla will light up the East Atrium of Sahara Centre in Sharjah on Saturday (December 13) for the Shukran Festival 2025. Padilla will join hundreds of UAE-based Filipinos for the free community event dedicated to music, culture, and Filipino pride. The event starts at 2pm. Padilla, who arrived in Dubai just before the festival, said she came eager to reconnect with the Filipino community in the emirates. “I am so excited to celebrate our community. We have so much in store for you—activities, cultural presentations and live performances,” she said shortly after landing. The star’s appearance marks her first major public event in the UAE since 2019, when she last visited for the Barrio Fiesta in Dubai. For Padilla, joining the Sharjah celebration was not just another stop on her global schedule, but a heartfelt return to a community that has long supported her artistic journey. Now known as one of the Philippines’ most versatile creatives, she has built a career not only as a multi-awarded actress but also as a writer, producer, and director. The Shukran Festival 2025, held at the Sahara Centre’s bustling East Atrium, features performances, cultural showcases, and interactive activities designed to bring the community together. CAM/Expat Media
