Big Bad Wolf Book Fair in Dubai opens 24/7 until April 24: insider’s info

  DUBAI – The Big Bad Wolf Book Fair in Dubai is now open for 24 hours every day until April 24, organisers announced on Saturday (April 16). Expatmedia.net was at the sprawling Sound Stages at Dubai Studio City where the book fair was held, arriving just before midnight on Saturday, and leaving at around 3am on Sunday (April 17), kept company by late night shoppers and bookworms. Entrance is free and book prices start at Dh2 (look for the price sticker with code 1). We couldn’t find the Dh2 books when we were there, but we did find Frozen and Nemo colouring books and activity pads and some Cars stickers for Dh5 (price sticker code 3). There are more than a million titles here, according to organisers. Books are discounted at up to 80 percent of their retail price. Staff said they're replenishing the stock by bringing new books in every day. There are plenty of self-help books and young adult books, and even a section for Arabic titles, but the big winner is the massive section of children’s books. The kids will love it here. The Disney section is a steal, with really nice illustrated books starting at Dh18 (price code 8). As we were leaving at around 3am, staff of Big Bad Wolf Book Fair were bringing in huge boxes of more books. One box had tin cans of Toy Story and Star Wars activity books. At the loading bay near the parking lot, they still have dozens of these huge boxes waiting to be unpacked. You know what that means. Gotta come back for another book hunt. PIA/Expat Media
