Big Ticket Abu Dhabi: Indian in Dubai wins Dh15 million

An Indian expatriate in Dubai has won the Dh15 million grand prize in the latest Big Ticket draw in Abu Dhabi. Mohammed Shereef’s ticket was drawn on Sunday (March 3). The expat, who works in Dubai’s Business Bay as a procurement officer, has been buying Big Tickets online for more than a year. He will be sharing his prize with 20 of his colleagues, which means they will be getting Dh714,285 each. When asked about his plans, Shereef said: “I hope to fly in my family from India and start my own business. I also want to donate a portion to charity.” Shereef said he was spending the weekend in Karama when he found out he won in the draw. It was his first time to win a prize. The next Big Ticket draw will be on April 3 with a grand prize of Dh10 million. A lucky customer will also walk away with a Maserati Ghibli, worth Dh380,000. Big Ticket was launched in 1992 at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. Today, Big Ticket is the largest and longest-running raffle draw for cash prizes in the GCC. A ticket costs Dh500 and can be bought via bigticket.ae or through Big Ticket counters at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. ICA/Expat Media
