Big Ticket draw in Abu Dhabi closed to public over health concerns

DUBAI – The Big Ticket draw in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday (March 3) will be closed off to the public over health concerns, organisers told Expatmedia.net. “The event will be closed off to public attendance at this time.. We have made this necessary decision as a precautionary measure considering current events surrounding public health and safety,” organisers said in a statement. “We will be providing updates of when the live draw program will return to its original format in due course,” they added. The move comes as authorities cancelled the UAE Tour in Abu Dhabi and ordered the lockdown of two hotels in the capital after two members of the cycling event tested positive for the new coronavirus. Huge crowds normally gather for the monthly Big Ticket live draws outside the arrivals area of the Abu Dhabi International Airport. Last month, hundreds of people—some wearing face masks—still flocked to the venue amid news of the new coronavirus spreading globally. More games and prizes for the social media audiences will also be in store for viewers of the live stream program,” organisers said. The live broadcast on Big Ticket’s official social media pages will start at 7:30pm. This month’s grand prize of Dh10 million and nine consolation prizes are up for grabs for Series 213, along with a new Jeep Grand Cherokee for the Dream Car Raffle. ICA/Expat Media
