An Iranian architect in Dubai has won Dh50,000 in the Big Ticket e-draw after purchasing her first ticket, organizers said on Friday (August 16). Shermin Saberhosseini moved to Dubai from Iran just a few months ago to start her own company. She saw an advertisement on Big Ticket about the Dh15 million promotion and bought her first ticket. “One night I was scrolling through Instagram, and I saw the Big Ticket ad promoting Dh15 million. I thought to myself, that's exactly the amount I need to start my own business. I clicked and purchased my first ticket,” Saberhosseini said. "The next day, I received a call from Big Ticket informing me of my win. I didn’t believe it at first, but then I checked the website and saw my name—I was jumping with joy,” she added. The Iranian said she is “very happy” about her win. “I will use this cash to settle in Dubai. I also hope to win the grand prize on September 3,” she said. Among the recent winners of Dh50,000 each were a retired ADNOC employee, a driver, and a media specialist. Jordanian Ahmed Issa Ibrahim, a retired ADNOC employee based in Abu Dhabi, has been living in the emirate since 1981 and is a loyal Big Ticket customer. Ibrahim said he has been purchasing tickets every time he travels from the Abu Dhabi airport.’’ When asked about his win, he said, ‘'I am very happy and thankful, this prize came at the right time. I will use it to pay off my debt and give the remaining amount to my children as a gift, and buy gold for my wife.’’ He continued, ‘'I am always optimistic. I knew one day I would win. I keep telling myself, “If not this time, then next time.” Mohammed Abdullah, a 57-year-old Indian who has lived in Dubai for 35 years, said he will share his Dh50,000 prize with three friends who helped him buy Big Ticket in the last four years. The driver said he will send his portion of the money to his family in India. Another Indian winner is Asharaf Abdul, a media specialist in Al Ain who has been purchasing Big Ticket with his friends in the last three years. Abdul said that when he initially received the call from Big Ticket, he thought it was another marketing call. “But when the lady told me I had won, I froze—I couldn’t believe it. I remember calling them three times that day to ensure it was real and I understood correctly. I am happy about my win, and I want to thank Big Ticket for changing so many lives,” Abdul said. Customers who purchase their Big Tickets throughout August will stand a chance to enter the draw to win the grand prize of Dh15 million on September 3. Anyone who purchases cash prize tickets will also be entered into an electronic draw the day after the purchase, where one lucky individual will take home Dh50,000. Additionally, ten customers will each win Dh100,000 during the next live draw, along with a Range Rover Velar worth Dh325,000. ICA/Expat Media
