Biggest Filipino event in UAE to showcase Pinoy talent, bring together 94 groups
DUBAI - The biggest Filipino event in the UAE opens at the Dubai World Trade Centre on December 15 and will serve as a platform to showcase Filipinos' vast pool of talents. "The program is wider than ever before, in such a way that all the communities from the different emirates - Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain - will be joining the festivities. Aside from that, 94 groups will be joining this momentous event consisting of different Filipino schools and organizations, which makes me more inspired," said Engineer Tata Dayot, chairman of the UAE-based non-profit group FilClub. The full-day activity runs from 7am until 8pm and features 15 key activities for visitors and particpants, including competitions that will showcase Filipino talent in singing, dancing, fashion and arts. "I am particularly excited about the fruit and vegetable carving competition as this segment will showcase the exemplary talents of our kababayans working in the field of hospitality. Even the host country and other expats are impressed on the skills that they will be showcasing on this competition," Dayot revealed. FilClub Vice Chairman Ericson Reyes, who has been working alongside Dayot to organise the day-long event, said the itinerary has been specially created to make visitors and participants happy. "The segments this year are unique, with dedicated segment heads and leaders looking after every detail. In any segment, you will see the genius of Filipinos in their talent or skills. It's going to be a fully packed day of activity," Reyes said.
