Biggest underground Dubai Metro station opens on September 1
DUBAI – The Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station—the biggest underground station in the Dubai Metro network—opens to the public on September 1, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station is one of seven metro stations on Route 2020. It spans an area of 28,700sqm and extends 232 metres in height. The new metro station will be able to serve 11,555 passengers per hour during peak time and an estimated 250,000 passengers per day. It has two platforms, four bus stops, 20 taxi stands and 400 public parking slots. Other stations on Route 2020 are Jebel Ali Station, The Gardens Station, Discovery Gardens Station, Al Furjan Station, Dubai Investments Park Station and Expo 2020.
