 A young man has been arrested by Dubai Police after he was caught on video performing life-threatening motorcycle stunts and speeding on Dubai roads. The footage, which went viral on social media, showed him overtaking vehicles recklessly, weaving between traffic, and even riding without using the handlebars. Major General Saif Mahir Al Mazrouei, Acting Assistant Commandant for Operations at Dubai Police, confirmed the arrest. "In these videos, he was shown riding two different motorcycles at high speeds during separate incidents. In one clip, he dangerously weaved between vehicles. At the same time, in another, he rode without using the handlebars, reflecting a serious disregard for traffic rules and the safety of other road users," Al Mazrouei said. To evade identification, the biker allegedly tried to disguise himself and the motorcycles, but was ultimately tracked down by a specialized police unit using advanced technologies. "However, specialized security teams, utilizing advanced technologies and their expertise, successfully identified and apprehended him," he added. The motorcycle was seized under Dubai traffic law, which imposes a Dh50,000 fine to release impounded vehicles. Al Mazrouei emphasized that these actions endanger lives, and such behaviors will not be tolerated. "Statistics reveal that over 80 percent of individuals committing such violations have been involved in serious accidents that resulted in fatalities and severe injuries," he pointed out.
