  DUBAI - Measures are being taken to handle the case of a group of quails infected with bird flu in an area of the Western Region. The Emergency and Crisis Management team in Abu Dhabi has said that continuous monitoring is ongoing, according to state news agency WAM. They have called on bird and farm owners to contact the Abu Dhabi Government Call Centre on 800555 to find out about tests on their birds if they have any concerns. According to the US Centres for Disease Control (CDC), bird flu occurs naturally among wild aquatic birds worldwide and can infect domestic poultry and other bird and animal species. Avian flu viruses do not normally infect humans.
