Bisaya singing competition, Bisdak Idol, is back for its second edition in Dubai, with cash prizes and community pride on the line. Contestants will compete for the top prize of Dh1,200, along with six special awards, including Best in Showmanship and Most Applauded. The competition promises an exciting showdown, with a final elimination round scheduled at 9pm on November 22 at the vibrant Al Muraqqabat Night Market in Dubai. Aspiring contestants still have time to register by calling the hotline 055 9415750. The first-place winner will take home Dh1,200, while the second and third places will receive Dh1,000 and Dh700, respectively. Six special awards will also be given, recognizing Best in Voice Quality (Male and Female), Best in Interpretation, Best in Showmanship, Best in Costume, and the coveted Most Applauded award. “It’s not just about winning; it’s about showcasing talent and promoting our heritage,” one of the organizers told Expat Media. The competition comes at a time when Bisaya music is enjoying mainstream attention, with artists like Juan Karlos and Maris Racal leading the charge.
