Bollywood superstar Saif Ali Khan is undergoing treatment at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after being stabbed multiple times during a home invasion at his Bandra residence early Thursday morning (January 16). The shocking attack left the actor with six stab wounds, two of which were deep, including one dangerously close to his spine. "Mr. Khan was brought in at 3am with injuries caused by sharp objects," said Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital. "A foreign object near his spine has been identified, and surgery is ongoing to assess the full extent of the damage." The incident occurred at the Satguru Sharan building, where Khan resides with his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, and their children. According to police, an unidentified intruder broke into the residence and engaged in an argument with the family’s maid. When Khan intervened, the situation escalated into a violent scuffle. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam confirmed that Khan sustained injuries during the altercation. "The intruder fled the scene after other occupants of the house woke up," he said, adding that an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the suspect. A female household staff member was also injured in the attack and is receiving treatment. The actor’s representatives confirmed the incident, describing it as an attempted burglary. "Saif is currently in surgery. We request fans and media to respect the family’s privacy as this is a police matter," read the statement. Khan, 54, is one of Bollywood’s most celebrated stars, known for his roles in films like Omkara and Devara Part 1. He is also the son of cricket legend Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore. Khan’s upcoming project, Jewel Thief - The Red Sun Chapter, is set to release later this year.
