If you’ve noticed a delicious buzz around Oud Metha, it’s probably because of the grand launch of Bravo!—Dubai’s newest artisan cake shop serving up a sweet slice of the Philippines with a twist of the UAE. The Filipino-owned specialty cake shop officially opened on Saturday (May 10) at Al Nasr Square in Oud Metha, with Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso Ferdinand Ver, Philippine Consul General Marford Angeles and Philippine Business Council Dubai officers joining the celebration. But these aren’t your typical cakes. Bravo! is all about “layers of flavor and surprise in every slice,” according to its founders, who told Expat Media that the goal is to create cakes that people will remember—and come back for. And they weren’t kidding. Just take a look at the Lotus Biscoff cake, a crowd favorite that combines cashew meringue, fresh mango cream, moist chocolate cake, chocolate custard crème, and a decadent caramel flan topping infused with—you guessed it—Lotus Biscoff spread. “We wanted to create unique cakes that people will remember and has a surprise with every layer. That’s how the idea of Bravo! cakes came about,” Bravo! founders told Expat Media. The shop’s menu is a flavor fusion that highlights Filipino favorites while adding a UAE flair. You’ll find classics like Mango, Ube (purple yam) and Mango-Ube cakes, as well as local-inspired creations like Pistachio Kunafa, a nod to Middle Eastern dessert culture. Cake prices start at Dh140, with specialties like Lotus Biscoff Cake, Mango Cake or Ube Cake (from Dh140), or the fusion Mango-Ube Cake (from Dh260) and Pistachio Kunafa Cake (from Dh170). Whether you're celebrating a birthday, a milestone, or just want to treat yourself on a random weekday, Bravo! might be your new favorite sweet spot. PIA/Expat MediaTry it
