British man arrested anew in Dubai over stunt on construction crane

  DUBAI – The Dubai Police have arrested British daredevil James Kingston for doing dangerous stunts on top of the city's skyscrapers and even on construction cranes. Kingston, 25, was picked up for questioning by the police last Saturday after he posted a video on Youtube climbing a crane. Kingston went to Twitter to report to his followers that he had been arrested by four policemen. Brigadier Salim Khaifa Al Rumaithi, director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), defended the arrest of Kingston by the police because the foreigner violated the law. The British daredevil was released on Sunday and was ordered not to perform dangerous stunts again in the city. This is not the first time though that Kingston was arrested for doing a dangerous stunt in Dubai. In 2014, he was picked up after he climbed the 413-meter Princess Tower and he signed a promise not to do the stunt again. Kingston's act followed that of Russian model Viki Odintcova who was summoned by the police for doing a dangerous stunt along with a male companion atop the 306-meter-tall, 73-storey Cayan Tower last month. Odintcova hung from the girder of the 306-meter-tall tower held only by her male companion. She also leaned back while standing on the girder and being held by her accomplice. A video of the stunt was posted online and went viral.
