The Pakistani flag lights up Burj Khalifa in Dubai. PAKISTAN CONSULATE DUBAI

The world’s tallest building will light up in green and white as Dubai’s Burj Khalifa displays the Pakistani flag on Thursday (August 14) at 7:50 pm to celebrate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day. The spectacular display, organised in coordination with the Pakistan mission in the UAE, is expected to draw large crowds of residents and visitors, particularly from the Pakistani community. According to the mission’s spokesperson, the event is “a stunning visual tribute and a symbol of the strong ties between the UAE and Pakistan.” The celebrations began earlier in the day with flag-hoisting ceremonies at the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate in Dubai, attended by hundreds of community members displaying patriotic fervour. Pakistani missions have invited the public to witness the Burj Khalifa lighting and “join in the celebrations of freedom, unity, and national pride.” ICA/Expat Media
