All roads leading to Dubai’s Burj Khalifa will be gradually closed starting at 4pm on December 31, authorities revealed. The world’s tallest building is set to hold another spectacular fireworks show to usher in 2024, and just like recent years, the event is expected to draw massive crowds. To ensure the safety of visitors and minimize traffic congestions in and around the area, Dubai Police has announced road closures in the runup to the fireworks display. Here’s the list of roads that will be closed to traffic: Al Sayel Street: 4pm onwards Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard: 4pm onwards Burj Khalifa Street: 4pm onwards Financial Centre Street, Lower Deck: 4pm onwards Al Mustaqbal Street: gradually closed from 4pm, between Financial Centre Street and Trade Centre Street Al Sukook Street: 8pm onwards Financial Centre Street, Upper Deck: 9pm onwards Sheikh Zayed Road towards Burj Khalifa: 9pm onwards Meanwhile, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that the Burj Khalifa Dubai Mall Metro Station will be closed at 5pm or as soon as the station exceeds capacity. Commuters are urged to use the nearest Metro stations Business Bay, Financial Centre, Emirates Towers and World Trade Center to reach the celebrations venue in Downtown Dubai. Metro users must ensure that their Nol card balance has a minimum of Dh15 for a round trip.
