Busiest Dubai Metro stations in 2024 revealed

As Dubai Metro celebrates its 15th anniversary, BurJuman and Union stations have emerged as the busiest hubs in the city's train network, according to the latest statistics from Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). BurJuman, located in Bur Dubai, recorded a staggering 7.8 million passengers from January to June 2024, while Union station in Deira followed with 6.3 million passengers. These stations serve as key transfer points between the Red and Green lines, making them critical intersections for Dubai's public transport system. The RTA report also highlighted other highly frequented stations such as Al Rigga (6.2 million), Mall of the Emirates (5.6 million), and Business Bay (5.2 million) on the Red line. On the Green line, Sharaf DG led with 4.7 million passengers, followed by Baniyas and Stadium stations with 4.1 million and 3.3 million passengers respectively. Dubai Metro has been a cornerstone of the city's transport infrastructure since its launch in 2009, transporting more than 2.4 billion passengers to date with a near-perfect punctuality rate of 99.7 percent. As the city’s population continues to grow, so does the demand for efficient public transport, putting the metro system on track for a potential record-breaking year. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai’s ruler, emphasized the importance of punctuality in public transport, saying that he expects a 100 percent on-time performance in the future as part of Dubai’s cultural values of commitment and excellence.
