  DUBAI - The remains of a Filipina who died in Ajman has been repatriated to the Philippines after her family received the wrong corpse two weeks ago. The remains of Febie Layug Guzman, 44, arrived at her family’s home in Pampanga, Philippines on Saturday through the assistance of the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai. Guzman’s relative in Dubai identified her body in the morgue in Ajman after her grieving family in Pampanga, Philippines first received the remains of a yet unidentified Muslim Filipina. It is still unclear where or why the cadaver mix-up happened. This time, however, Guzman’s relatives in Dubai were asked to identify the body before the casket was sealed to ensure that the mistake will not be repeated. Guzman, who worked as a salon worker in Ajman, died on November 15 in the emirate. She was found unconscious on the streets of Ajman on November 6, 2016 and rushed to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Ajman where she died nine days later, said Ray Angulo, a Filipino social worker who handled her case. Guzman’s cause of death is unknown. Her body was released from the morgue in late February. Guzman is survived by a husband and their three children.
