Car goes up in flames at Dubai petrol station

DUBAI – A car waiting to refuel at a petrol station near Dubai Festival City caught fire on Saturday. It was not immediately clear what sparked the fire in the car engine, but Civil Defence officials said that the blaze was extinguished before bigger disaster could strike. No one was reported injured in the blaze. This is the second incident in two years of a vehicle going up in flames at a petrol station in Dubai. In 2015, a van caught fire while waiting in a petrol station queue in Dubai. Petrol pump attendants rushed with fire extinguishers to put out the blaze before it could spread to other vehicles in the petrol station. No one was reported hurt in the incident.
