A hotel resort in the Philippines that is co-owned by a former Dubai hotelier is giving guests free pool access this August. The requirement? Your name has to be Carlos. J&V Hotel and Resort, run by former Dubai hotelier Vagelyn Tumbaga and her husband, announced that the free pool access is in celebration of Philippine gymnast Carlos Yulo’s two gold medals at the ongoing Paris Olympics. Qualified guests only need to present their valid ID in order to avail of the offer until August 31. The Philippine government has said it would award the 24-year-old P10 million (Dh634,000) Companies in the Philippines have celebrated Yulo's victories by announcing big rewards for the Olympian, including a P24 million (Dh1.5 million) fully furnished apartment, free meals for life at various restaurants, and a food cart franchise, among others. J&V Hotel and Resort's offer is considered the first to celebrate the victory with rewards for the general public. On Sunday, Yulo bagged the Philippines’ second gold medal after ruling the men’s vault finals in the Paris Olympics. The Filipino scored 15.433 points in his first vault, the highest score attained by a male gymnast this Olympics. On his second vault, he successfully landed a Kasamatsu double twist, which earned him 14.800 points, averaging to his winning score of 15.116 points.
