Four free agents join Cleveland team in workout, sources say

  CLEVELAND - NBA defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers is looking at adding a player or even two to its roster to serve as reinforcement for LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, according to sources in the team. The sources told ESPN that free agent veterans Mario Chalmers, Jordan Farmar, Kirk Hinrich and Lance Stephenson were scheduled to work out for the Cavaliers on Wednesday (US time). Other free agents were also expected to join the workout session and depending on how the free agents perform, one or even two of them will be joining the Cavaliers before the break in the All-Star games. The Cavaliers has one spot available for the taking and another spot may be open should the team decide to waive injured Chris Andersen. Andersen is recuperating from a knee injury. James earlier urged the Cavaliers management to add a point guard to the team to serve as alternate to him and Irving following the team's recent dismal play. So far, the Cavs have seven wins and eight losses. Chalmers and James used to play together in the Miami Heat. Chalmers is now with the Memphis Grizzlies. Farmar is with the Sacramento Kings while Stephenson used to be with the New Orlean Pelicans. Hinrich played for the Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks in the last season.
