CCTV cameras in Dubai driving school cars planned - Smart monitoring system for driving classes in Dubai to be implemented in two years

  DUBAI – CCTV cameras may soon be installed in training vehicles under the planned smart monitoring system for Dubai driving schools, an official at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said. Under the planned system, trainee drivers will also be able to electronically register their attendance for driving classes. Trainees are currently required to sign attendance in driving lessons card, while their instructors register information on the card, such as lessons accomplished. “We are working on a plan to introduce a smart monitoring system at driving schools, which will allow us to keep an eye on each and every trainee driver,” said Ahmad Hashem Behroozian, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency. “Students will log in and log out of their classes electronically and all the information will be entered electronically, which will help us monitor their performance throughout,” Behroozian said. The RTA official said plans to install CCTV cameras in all training vehicles will ensure that trainee drivers are attending classes and that all trainees go through their proper courses.
