Chef CZN Burak, famous for his giant dishes and viral smile, has announced the closure of all his businesses in Dubai, cutting all legal and business ties in the emirate. Celebrity chef Burak Özdemir, better known as CZN Burak, has announced that he is officially ending all his business operations in Dubai. In a video statement shared with his 34 million Instagram followers, the Turkish chef said: “I no longer have any legal or business ties with any company in Dubai.” The announcement marks the closure of his well-known restaurant at Boulevard Point on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, a venue that attracted both residents and tourists with its extensive Turkish-Middle Eastern menu and sweeping views of the Burj Khalifa. CZN Burak rose to global fame through TikTok and Instagram videos where he prepared enormous dishes while flashing his signature smile directly at the camera. His unique style, combined with oversized meat feasts, quickly turned him into one of the world’s most recognizable social media chefs. The 30-year-old chef hails from Hatay province in Turkey, where he grew up learning to cook from his grandfather at just 10 years old. He went on to launch his career in 2015 and today runs the Hatay Medeniyetler Sofrasi restaurant chain in Turkey. Turkish media estimate his net worth at around $4 million as of 2021. Although Dubai became a second home for the chef, who often spent time in the emirate and was recently spotted visiting the Museum of the Future, his announcement confirms that he is closing this chapter of his business journey in the UAE. CZN Burak’s departure is a notable shift in Dubai’s dining landscape, where celebrity chefs and international restaurateurs have long been part of the city’s cosmopolitan food culture.
