1. Visa-free travel to Armenia for UAE residents

From July 1, UAE residents can travel to Armenia without a visa, provided they hold a valid GCC residency visa. - Stay for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. - Visa must be valid for at least six months from entry. Armenia’s Tourism Committee says this move aims to boost tourism and investment, offering access to scenic spots like Lake Sevan and Yerevan’s bustling cafés. Read more

2. Ajman adopts full remote work on Fridays for government employees

As part of the “Our Balanced Summer” initiative, Ajman government staff will work remotely every Friday from July 1 until August 22. New hours: 7:30am to 2:30pm, Monday to Thursday The goal? Promote work-life balance and reduce transport emissions, in line with Ajman Vision 2030. Read more

3. Dubai introduces 4-day workweek for government staff

Dubai joins the flexible work movement by splitting public sector employees into two groups: Group A: Monday–Thursday (8 hrs/day), Friday off Group B: Monday–Thursday (7 hrs/day), Friday (4.5 hrs) Running from July 1 to September 12, this initiative supports employee wellness and efficiency during the scorching summer months.

4. New public health law takes effect in Dubai

Starting July, Law No. 5 of 2025 will help limit the spread of communicable diseases. Residents with confirmed or suspected illnesses must avoid contact and travel unless approved by the Dubai Health Authority. All travellers must follow official health protocols at Dubai’s entry points and report illnesses when requested.

5. Summer school holidays begin

July signals the beginning of the school holidays, which means less traffic on your commute to work. For most private schools: • Last day of school: June 27 or 30 • First day back: August 25 Time to enjoy family holidays, summer camps, or staycations across the UAE.
