The UAE has handed over one of China’s most wanted fugitives, accused of masterminding a massive fake gambling network, to Chinese authorities following his arrest in Dubai. According to the UAE Ministry of Interior, the suspect was apprehended by Dubai Police after an international red notice was issued by Interpol. He is alleged to have operated an organized criminal syndicate running fraudulent online gambling sites worth millions of dollars. The UAE confirmed that the fugitive was extradited to China, where he faces charges linked to organized crime and financial fraud. Chinese authorities expressed their appreciation for the UAE’s swift action. In a statement, they commended “the UAE’s keenness to enhance cooperation and joint action to ensure the security of societies and the international community.” The arrest is the latest in a string of high-profile handovers carried out by UAE authorities, reaffirming the country’s commitment to combating transnational crime.
