Expat buys Rolls Royce for rare number plate in UAE

DUBAI – A Chinese expatriate in Ras Al Khaimah has bought a new Rolls Royce in order to bag the special number plate that comes with it. “This special number plate is so stunning that I could not help buy a special car for it," said Xian Jun Xu, a businessman. Xu didn’t reveal how much he paid for the Rolls Royce, but the luxury car is estimated to cost around Dh4 million in the market. It was actually the number plate X 1 on the Rolls Royce that caught his attention. Xu, who is a car dealer, said the “spectacular design” that starts with X, the first letter of his name, really impressed him. “I am planning to buy two more special number plates from Ras Al Khaimah with the same 'X' code for my family,” he said. The General Resources Authority of Ras Al Khaimah Police held a small function at the Enoc vehicle testing and registration village to mark the sale of the unique number plate. ICA/Expat Media
