Coldplay frontman pays medical student a visit before proceeding to concert

  MANILA - Coldplay frontman Chris Martin surprised a cancer-stricken fan in the Philippines by visiting him in a Manila hospital before the band's concert at the Mall of Asia concert ground last Tuesday night. ABS-CBN reported that before going to concert venue, Martin went to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) on Tuesday afternoon to spend time with Ken Santiago, a medical student of the University of the Philippines-Manila, who is suffering from stage 4 cancer. Ken, an avid fan of the British rock band, already had a Coldplay concert ticket but because of his condition, he could not watch the show so he gave his ticket to a younger sibling. Ken's older brother, Kheil, earlier sought help via Facebook in relaying a request to Coldplay to greet Ken or send him a short message. "A week ago, he already turned over his Platinum ticket to my younger brother. He does not show he is sad, he said it's okay. But we can feel that he really wanted to be there. But due to his health condition that we cannot compromise. We, especially him, accepted the fact that he can't be there in the most special concert of Coldplay for him.
