Updated on September 27, 2024 Pre-sale tickets for Coldplay's one-night-only show in Abu Dhabi open today (September 25) at 12pm and fans from across the region are already gearing up to secure their spots at the most highly anticipated show. However, organisers warn fans against purchasing the tickets from unauthorised resellers. Official ticketing platform Ticketmaster has warned UAE fans that tickets bought from unauthorised resellers like Viagogo, Stubhub, Grinthub, and Dubizzle are not valid and "will be cancelled." On Ticketmaster's website, it states: "We can confiscate a ticket from you if you resell it or attempt to resell it." Buying tickets from unauthorised resellers carries the risk of getting invalid or overpriced tickets. In India, for example, VIP tickets for the Coldplay concert are being sold on Viagogo for up to Dh27,000, a massive 1,655 percent markup from the original price of Dh1,537.48. Even standard tickets that originally cost Rs2,500 (Dh109.82) are being resold for up to Rs15,000 (Dh 658.93) on platforms like Viagogo and Gigsberg, leading to a 500 percent markup. This isn't limited to just the websites either. In India, individuals who bought VIP tickets for Rs35,000 (about Dh1,537) are now trying to resell them for as much as Rs300,000 (Dh13,178). Also, reselling tickets without written permission from organisers is illegal in UAE. The popular rock band will hold its concert on January 9, 11, 12 and 14 at Zayed Sports City Stadium as part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025. As it is Coldplay's only show in the Middle East, tickets are expected to sell out quickly. If you miss today's presale, don't worry; general ticket sales will open on Friday (September 27) at 12pm on the band's website, Live Nation, and Ticket Master. FLE/Expat Media
