Community initiatives benefit prison inmates in Ajman

Inmates of the Ajman Punitive and Reformatory Establishment (APRE) have benefited from a remote trial service in Ajman. In contrast, the smart supermarket service has been used and profited by 8307 convicts. The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, Brigadier-General Khalid Mouhammad Al Nuaimi, lauded APRE's efforts in providing smart services to convicts and community projects, as well as its distinguished role in assisting and rehabilitating inmates according to the highest quality standards. The Director of APRE, Lt. Col. Mohammad Mubarak Al Ghafli, stated that the management is working hard to achieve the Ministry of Interior's strategic goal of ensuring the provision of administrative services that meet quality, efficiency, and transparency standards, as well as improving the resource management and support process. Families of convicts can deposit funds at any Ajman Bank branch in the country by submitting the inmate's name and number. The money will be deposited into an inmate's own account, which he or she can use to shop at the institution's smart supermarket. Inmates can order their groceries from the supermarket using a smart touch screen. The products will be supplied under the watchful eye of prison officials. The services also attempt to reduce the number of persons who visit institutions in order to give money to inmates. 119 convicts benefited from the monetary settlement and initiative.
