DUBAI - An Emirati girl, 2, has been discharged from hospital after sustaining injuries from an explosion of a pressure cooker at her home, according to media reports on Tuesday. The toddler, Shaikha Saeed Al Mughni, was discharged from hospital last Saturday after a two-week recovery from second-degree burns to her body. She was in the kitchen of the family home in Dibba Al Hosn with her aunt and the housemaid when the pressure cooker exploded. The incident left the girl with 45 percent burns in parts of her body. Dr Muqdad Al Hammadi, a plastic surgeon at Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi, said the girl was given fluids for the first 24 hours, with doctors cleaning and disinfecting burned areas of her body.
