Coronavirus in UAE: 427 new cases, 341 recoveries on August 29 DUBAI – The UAE Ministry of Health reported 427 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday (August 29) as the World Health Organisation warned of a resurgence of coronavirus across Europe. The UAE currently has 8,747 active cases of coronavirus. On Saturday, 341 more people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 60,202. There were no deaths in 24 hours, so the death toll remained at 379. The UAE health ministry reminded the public to adhere to precautionary measures against Covid-19, such as the mandatory wearing of masks and observing physical distancing. The UAE has seen a spike in new cases daily in August, with authorities warning that new measures and fines may be imposed to curb the spread of coronavirus. In Europe, the World Health Organisation warned of a resurgence of coronavirus as France, Spain and Germany recorded their highest daily cases in months. Coronavirus has infected more than 24.7 million people globally and has killed 837,295 people. Currently there is yet no approved vaccine for the virus but countries are racing to find a cure.
