Coronavirus in UAE: 680 new cases as recoveries hit high of 577 on May 11

  DUBAI – The UAE reached a daily record high of 577 recoveries of Covid-19, while new cases dropped to 680 on Monday (May 11), according to the health ministry. The figures were good news for the UAE, which has been battling to curb the spread of the virus since March. According to the Ministry of Health and Prevention, the UAE’s total number of recoveries now stood at 5,381, while its total number of Covid-19 cases is 18,878. Meanwhile, 3 more people died of Covid-19 comlication on Monday, brining the death toll to 201. On Sunday, the UAE recorded 781 new cases, becoming the country’s highest toll of infected people in a day. The UAE government also began a 3-day meeting on Sunday to discuss the country’s recovery plan after the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, on Monday.
