Couple who got lost in Ras Al Khaimah mountain rescued

RAS AL KHAIMAH - After a three-hour search at night, authorities were able to rescue an Asian couple who lost their way in Ras Al Khaimah's mountains. Major Tarek Al Sharhan, head of the Emergency Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said that police received distress call from the couple at around 6pm on Friday. They had gone on an exploration trip starting at 9am, but eventually lost their way. The couple was new to mountain climbing. Luckily, they were able to contact the police before their mobile phone battery ran out. The police sent a rescue team to the area where the couple was last located. The 7-member rescue team included paramedics and officers aboard a rescue helicopter. Darkness and poor connectivity slowed down search and rescue efforts, but police were able to find the lost couple and gave them first aid before they were transported back to safety, Major Al Sharhan said. DAJ/Expat 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
