Covid-19 in UAE: 1,064 new cases, 1,271 recoveries, 1 death on October 12

  DUBAI – Daily coronavirus numbers in the UAE lingered at above 1,000 on Monday (October 12), with health authorities reporting 1,064 new cases and 1,271 recoveries in 24 hours. One more person also died from coronavirus in the country, raising the death toll to 446. The UAE has recorded a total of 107,293 coronavirus cases since January, out of which 98,555 people have recovered from the virus. There are currently 8,292 active cases in the country. The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention said that the figures came as 78,483 new Covid-19 tests were carried out in the country in 24 hours, bringing the total to more than 11 million. In Abu Dhabi, free mass testing for Covid-19 continues in densely populated areas, with health workers conducting door-to-door tests. ICA/Expat Media
